Why I’m into tea.Published by SamovarLife on April 28, 2009 under Jesse's Blog, Tea Blog, What's New ![]() Jesse with a cup of Chai at Samovar Zen Valley I was recently asked by a customer why I am so passionate about tea. After some thought….here is what I said: For me tea is about connecting. Preparing and savoring good tea is leaving the past and the future behind and connecting to the center of the now. Enjoying the moment has become ever more important to me and tea enables my presence in the present. It connects me to the sweet passing of time, to the hands that picked and steamed the leaf, and to the cadence of my breath. All that remains after is a sweet lingering aroma and a moistness on the lips–impermanent and yet lingering, simple yet profound. This elementary experience connects me to myself and to the world at large. And this is why I love tea.

well said jesse! keep the passion burning!
Cool photograph.
This made me laugh out loud. “A moistness on the lips…” You should write erotica, Jesse.
I hope to flip from coffee to tea, I am a geek that wants to feel better about what he consumes..
And Jesse, awesome website. I’m taking steps from Kevin that I found on your site to steer away from the bean and let in the leaf.
Samovar Tea Lounge in L.A. pleasseee. I think you guys will kill the competition, just put it on like Melrose or on Sunset Blvd.
Thanks for giving me some direction on how to enjoy more from tea. I had no idea how to begin moving over to tea, and this website has definitely helped me do so. After going to my local, yet limited, organic store, this will help me to learn what tea I like and what to buy from you an others. Thanks again Jesse.
sounds like purple prose.
